Sports Mom - Icing and Recovery for a Pitching Arm

Hi I'm Sports Mom Laura Thornquist. To ice or not to ice? That is the question I have been asking my son's coaches for years. Some say ice in the dugout and some say ice after we get home. We found out two years ago that neither was correct. And the only time you are suppose to ice your arm is if your athlete has a sore arm. I also learned that a sore arm is different than a "tired" arm. I also learned that icing your arm if it doesn't need it can actually hurt the arm. Its true! Apparently when ice is applied to a tired arm or shoulder, the blood flow is slowed. And that could slow down the healing process. So what can you do instead of icing down a tired arm? Believe it or not but running is one of the best things you can do to help and injured arm or shoulder. So forget the ice, get on the treadmill or go for a run when you have a tired arm or shoulder. Read more about this on our website. We also have some incredible sports deals to share. From running shoes to workout equipment to the best deals on baseball bats, we find you the best deals around.
